Staying the Course

I don't know about you, but I find that it is increasingly important in these chaotic times to stay centered, to stay calm and to stay true to oneself. Or, just as important: to have the awareness to realize when you're not centered, calm or being true to yourself. Why is this so?

Have you noti
ced how time feels like it has sped up? Do you notice how it is just as easy to slip into unconsciousness and be at the effect of life's circumstances as it is -once you recognize the former- to slow down into a very aware state and realize you are the one making the choices?

It's as though we are climbing a mountain on a very narrow ridge line. If we fall asleep, our bearing goes off-course. We quickly lose altitude as we slide down the slippery slope into the dense forest below where our visibility is severely limited. In generations past, we as humanity tended to dwell in this valley of consciousness, fumbling around in the dark forest. We grew accustomed to being limited. Our perception of was actually possible for us was extremely narrow as compared to today. Now, many of us are reaching the alpine altitudes where our visibility exponentially increases. However, at the same time, our mistakes or carelessness can cost us big time.

In short, many of us are beginning to realize that self-awareness has become an absolute essential tool, especially if one wants to stay the "inward" course which always moves from limited perception toward unlimited perception, or in other words, enlightenment. This no longer is a path only for monks in monasteries or yogis in ashrams. It is for everyone.

Of course, a huge range of consciousness levels exists within humanity. Just looking at the world around us, it is apparent that a larger percentage of people are still "asleep at the wheel." The important thing, however, is that continuing to take self-responsibility and raising one’s consciousness level, impacts positively the consciousness of others at an ever-increasing exponential rate.

To this I say, "stay the course!" Don't give your power away. Don't lose momentum. Do you want to change the world? Change your own world. Let your positive influence quietly affect the people around you instead of allowing negativity to pull the veil over your eyes. Most importantly, maintain the intention to stay on the path that was designed for you and only you!
